Earlier this month, McDonald’s announced that three new McCafe bakery items coming to its all-day menu. These menu additions are the first change to the McDonald’s core menu in eight years. While breakfast continues to be a food trend, McDonald’s new McCafe offerings show that those breakfast cravings can happen any time of day.

To kick off November, McDonald’s will be offering a free Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and Cinnamon Roll for free. Guests can get this free bakery item with a purchase of any sized Premium Roast or Iced McCafe coffee. The offer is available from November 3 through November 9.

The free McCafe bakery items are available through the app. When placing a coffee order, guests can select one of the three bakery items. The offer is available once per day, every day of the week, at participating restaurants.

The free offer via the app is becoming a trend for McDonald’s. Periodically, the McDonald’s app has specials like Free Fries Friday, savings on celebrity meals and other discounts. In some ways, it pays people to make sure that the app is on their device.

Value meals and discounts are a priority for consumers. Given the ease of use for in-app promotions, people are becoming more willing to push a button and place an order.

While these deals tend to entice consumers with their offers, people tend to purchase more via food apps. The convenience often makes it easier to keep adding to that order.
