Recently, I had the opportunity to try all three of these new McCafe Bakery menu items. With my cup of hot black coffee in hand, it was a tasty treat to say the least. While all three menu items are quite good, one stood out.

Truthfully, these menu items are more like options that you would get at a coffee shop or bakery. From the size to the flavor, it is clear that McDonald’s put some thought into the menu options.

Serving the cinnamon roll hot is a smart choice. The icing adds that sweet, luscious texture that you want from a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon flavors are warm, spicy yet not overpowering. The cinnamon roll is big, too. The box is about the same size as a burger.

The blueberry muffin has a great streusel topping. The slight crunch from the topping adds to the enjoyment. There are big pieces of blueberry in the muffin. Overall, it is quite enjoyable.

Truthfully, the must have new McCafe bakery item is the apple fritter. While the sweetest choice of the three, the apple fritter has a delicious flavor. The apple is complemented with warm spices. The glaze brings out the other flavors.

More importantly, there is a slight crunch that you expect from the outside of the apple fritter. The soft, chewy center is contrasted with that crunch to make the perfect bite.
