In this Holiday Baking Championship episode, the bakers are full of sweet surprises.

Sometimes Holiday Baking Championship has a few twists and turns to add to the holiday dessert festivities. In this episode, the bakers are ready to take those surprises to the next level. Will those holiday desserts lead to a change to the nice leader board?

According to the Food Network, this Holiday Baking Championship episode, “It’s What’s on the Inside that Counts” features the following:

"Host Jesse Palmer gives the seven bakers advent calendars filled with different types of chocolate to inspire them to make desserts with a surprise inside. Then, for the main heat, the competitors must bake one delicious cheesecake with three different flavors for judges Nancy Fuller, Duff Goldman and Carla Hall."

This holiday season has seen more and more brands offering advent calendars. It is more than just a little piece of chocolate building anticipation to Christmas Day. From wine to cheese, there is a food advent calendar for every food craving.

For the pre-heat, this challenge could spark some baking creativity. From ruby chocolate to traditional milk chocolate, the chocolate needs to be transformed into something different than just another chocolate cake. The bakers who can blend the creativity, execution and holiday whimsy will succeed.

Thinking of the main heat challenge, this cheesecake dessert idea is quite interesting. Who doesn’t like a sampler plate for holiday desserts. While this idea is not the piecaken, it could start a new trend for holiday treats. Why couldn’t a triple cheesecake option be served for as the best holiday dessert?
