Grabbing that Big Gulp or coffee is even easier with the 7-Eleven Wallet.

With a nationwide rollout, the 7-Eleven Wallet is the newest innovation from America’s convenience store. As more and more businesses turn to cashless and touchless payment methods, this digital payment system could spark a bigger trend in the food space.

Many companies have turned to app reward programs to entice consumers to be loyal to a brand. From free food rewards to special promotions, the smartphone has been the screen to savings. While restaurants have leveraged this space, 7-Eleven is looking to make shopping more convenient.

The 7-Eleven Wallet offers all customers a convenient way to make purchases. The difference with this program is that it includes cash customers. That option is a game changer for the industry.

According to 7-Eleven President & CEO, Joe DePinto, “7-Eleven Wallet meets the needs of customers looking for convenient, contactless ways to shop and pay during this unprecedented global pandemic. Cash customers want to participate in the growing digital payment ecosystem. 7-Eleven Wallet gives them access to touchless payment along with deep value loyalty offers.”

To load cash onto the payment system, customers can do it at a 7-Eleven register. Simply add the preferred amount and it is available to spend in the wallet. By not requiring a credit card, the customer base is expanded.

As part of the program launch, consumers can receive 2,000 bonus 7Rewards points for loading $20 into the 7-Eleven Wallet for the first time. In addition, using the program will come with special offers, reward offers and other promotions.

Given the potential success of this program, it seems likely that other brands will follow 7-Eleven’s lead. Touchless payment options might become the preferred payment method.
