Andre Johnson teams with Crown Royal to share the importance of water breaks.

While Andre Johnson was a leading scorer for the Houston Texans, the celebrated wide receiver has partnered with Crown Royal on a different way to score on game day. While football fans love celebrating a great play with a tasty cocktail, the water break is the way to Crown Your Game Day.

For many people, watching a game is sometimes paired with a cocktail. From toasting a come from behind victory to a consoling sip after a difficult defeat, a cocktail is part of many people’s game day ritual.

This season, Crown Royal encourages people to find that balance on game day through the Water Break. The idea to take a break from the cocktails and sipping a water can make the celebration more enjoyable. Just like a penalty on the field, no one wants to have a game day infraction from too many cocktails.

Andre Johnson has partnered with Crown Royal this season to remind everyone that the water break is just as important as the celebratory cocktail. Recently, FoodSided had the opportunity to ask Johnson about this campaign and his predictions for the end of the NFL season.

For Johnson, he understands that many fans enjoy a drink while watching their favorite team. Johnson said, “Many fans across the country enjoy watching the game with a drink in hand and so it’s definitely become a staple of game day for the masses. That’s why I’ve teamed up with Crown Royal this football season to remind folks to always drink responsibly, stay safe and generously support their community while cheering on their team.”

While fans are excited to celebrate, balance is key. Johnson believes. “It’s important for people take a Crown Royal Water Break during the game because no one wants to be that fan that ruins game day. The best way is to follow-up your Crown Royal cocktail with a glass of water to ensure you’re enjoying the game and being a royal fan.”

Even though this football season has been a different, no one wants to be memorable for the wrong reasons. Many people have seen that fan. By being mindful with those water breaks, those drinking infractions can be avoided.

While Johnson has much success on the field, he didn’t necessarily have a special celebration food or drink. Although, he did reveal that one of his post-game go to meals was fried chicken. Maybe that was his secret to being ready for the next game day.

With the NFL pushing towards the playoffs, Johnson had a few predictions. Johnson said, “My top teams for each conference would be Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC and the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC.”

As fans cheer their favorite team to victory, many people will be raising a glass. For Johnson, a Crown Royal cocktail is his recommendation. He said, “I may be biased, but a Crown Royal cocktail is the best way to elevate your game day with a smooth whiskey that’s easy to mix to create a simple drink. As long as you have a Crown cocktail in one hand and a water in the other hand, your game day is sure to be perfect!”

Since Johnson is a Houston Texans legend, why not shake up a Crown Royal cocktail inspired by his team. Just remember to have a water after sipping this cocktail.

This season, remember the water break is just as important has the cocktail. Don’t let the celebration end early because you had a party foul.
