Gingerbread Glazed Doughnuts are back at Krispy Kreme

Forget those candy coated houses, Gingerbread Glazed Doughnuts are the best holiday treat.

If you want to get on Santa’s nice list, leave him some Gingerbread Glazed Doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. The holiday favorite is back and everyone is feeling a little merrier. Are you ready to unwrap this holiday treat?

Some flavors are always associated with a particular celebration. Gingerbread is synonymous with the holidays. While many people make gingerbread houses or make some gingerbread men, it isn’t the only way to enjoy that sweet yet spicy holiday flavor.

Returning to the Krispy Kreme menu now through December 24 are two gingerbread flavored doughnuts. The Gingerbread Glazed Doughnut features spiced gingerbread dough that has some warm cinnamon notes. The doughnut is covered with a gingerbread molasses glaze.

In some ways, this gingerbread doughnut is like a combination of gingerbread cookie and molasses cookie. While the warm spices come through, the molasses sweetness makes it a little indulgent. Even though an extra doughnut might seem a little naughty, it is too tasty to resist.

Also offered for the holidays is the Gingerbread Glazed Original Filled Cheesecake Doughnut. Basically the gingerbread doughnut is stuffed with a cheesecake Kreme. While this doughnut might be a little sweet for breakfast, it makes for a great dessert. Then again, during the holidays, you can have some extra treats at breakfast.

The two gingerbread offerings join the popular Krispy Kreme Nicest Holiday Collection. Those three filled doughnuts have become a huge hit this holiday season. If you haven’t unwrapped the sugar cookie kreme filled doughnut yet, you need to enjoy one before it disappears.
