In the Making of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines, foodies get a taste of what is to come.

Ahead of the discovery+ debut, the Making of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines will give both food lovers and Fixer Upper fans a taste of what they can expect from Magnolia Network. With a nod to tradition and a sprinkling of the Gaines’ signature style, this preview will have everyone wanting a seat at Joanna’s table.

Airing on Sunday, January 3 at 7 p.m. on Food Network, HGTV, Cooking Channel and DIY, the Making of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines is part space transformation and part preview of the cooking show. As Chip and Joanna transform a historic gristmill into a space for her cooking show, the new content of Chip and Joanna at their best is a perfect start to the New Year.

While the pair are know for their Fixer Upper show, this preview program looks to be more than just silliness from Chip on demo day. Since they are setting the stage for the new cooking show, the program is more than just a stunning venue as a backdrop for tasty food. It shows that the kitchen connects family in many ways.

Joanna Gaines said, “Over the years, I’ve come to realize the impact that food has on our lives. It bolster our tradition and it maintains our fondest memories and our notion of home and family. With just one bite, food can bring you back to a specific moment in time.”

After the introductory episode, two new episodes will premiere, “A Family Tradition” and “A Friendsgiving Feast.” Each episode features a variety of dishes, including a classic Lebanese dish and seasonal dishes.

Given that the first episode focuses on Lebanese dishes, it is curious choice as the premiere episode but a smart one. Since the episode’s focus is on family traditions, this glimpse into classic Lebanese dishes gives more insight to Joanna, her philosophy on cooking and the potential direction for the cooking show. While everyone knows her design aesthetic, this idea could encourage home cooks to get in touch with their connection with family cooking traditions.

Gaines said, “Season one of my cooking show is filled with tried and true, family favorites… Recipes that remind me of my childhood, or my heritage, or lazy Saturday mornings at home with my family.”

Given that In the Kitchen with Joanna Gaines was one of the highest rated Food Network programs in the past year, many people will be watching this preview over and over. Although not everyone will be able to physically recreate Joanna’s kitchen at home, they will be able to bring some of her recipes to their home table.

The Magnolia Network and its programming will air on discovery+, this first glimpse will get viewers excited about the upcoming programming. More information on discovery+, Magnolia Network and other programming can be found online.
