In this Worst Cooks in America episode, the recruits tackle meatless meals.

After a revealing premiere, Worst Cooks in America is back to take on a food trend, meatless meals. While these cooks might prefer to order in, Anne Burrell and Carla Hall are ready to give them some seasoned tricks to improve their cooking skills. While there might be flavor in the brown, burnt is not an enjoyable spice.

In this Worst Cooks in America episode, “Farm to Table and Horse Racing,” the Food Network shares the following synopsis:

"Boot Camp challenges help the recruits understand how food gets from the farm to their fork. Chefs Anne Burrell and Carla Hall show them how to make meatless meals, and the recruits are judged on their pairings of seasonal fruit and meat. Then former recruits react to a date night-themed episode of Worst Cooks in America featuring Chef Anne and Chef Bobby Flay as mentors."

Looking at the first part of this episode, it tackles a topic that most home cooks have come to appreciate. Understanding how and from whom food arrives on the table is important. Knowing your farmer is just as important as knowing a recipe.

If these recruits can understand that quality ingredients lead to a better tasting recipe, it could help them to execute their dishes. Granted, burning or under-cooking an ingredient will still cause a dish to suffer. But, better tasting ingredients can put these recruits one step ahead.

For the Worst Cooks in America fans watching at home, the meatless meals lesson could inspire their next Meatless Monday meal. Sometimes a little recipe inspiration can make those vegetables taste even better.

For the second challenge, it takes on an old saying, what goes together, grows together. Cooking with seasonal ingredients is an extension of the farm to table thought process. It will be interesting to see if the recruits have paid attention during all the cooking lessons.

Which recruits will be cream of the crop and which recruits will be sent out to pasture? Here’s how to watch this new Worst Cooks in America episode.
