How are you celebrating National Popcorn Day this year?

Popcorn – we love it at the movies, in a box of Cracker Jack, bags of kettle corn at the ballpark and in cocktails. Cocktails?! Yes, our favorite snack is poppin’ good in cocktails.

So let’s get poppin’! It’s jolly time to try a RumChata Salted Caramel Martini. RumChata is a cream liqueur flavored with cinnamon and vanilla. Drizzle caramel sauce into the bottom of the glass and garnish with, you guessed it, caramel corn!

Caramel Corn is also the perfect flavor to pair with bourbon. Masterofmalt.com features the Popcorn Old Fashioned made with popcorn-infused Chita Whisky (Japanese single grain whisky from the Chita distiller) on their website. This cocktail was created at the Sexy Fish, a swanky Asian Restaurant, the Sexy Fish, on the corner of Berkeley Square, Mayfair, London. According to Master of Malt ,over the years, they’ve used 110 kg (242.50 pounds) of popcorn to make this special cocktail.

What could be more fun than  Caramel Corn Shooters? Food and Wine Magazine features Chef Grant Achatz (Alinea, Chicago, Illinois) Caramel Corn Shooters recipe for a dessert treat. The shooters are made with a rich, buttery popcorn broth and a frothy, light caramel topping. Now that’s a magical dessert treat that will pleasantly surprise your dinner guests!

Chewyourbooze.com is a website dedicated to finding links to alcohol infused snacks, cooking with booze books and everything else food + alcohol related. There is a special alcohol Infused Popcorn Collection on the site. Recipes include these flavors: Beer and Caramel with Pretzels and Pecans, Tequila Spiked Caramel Corn, Buttered Rum and Cranberry, Bacon and Cashew Bourbon Caramel Corn and Margarita Glazed.

What’s the most super special way to serve our favorite snack on it’s special day? Pair popcorn drizzled with white truffle oil with champagne! It is truly a heavenly treat!
