Jamaal Charles runs through some game day predictions and his thoughts on being a royal fan.

Jamaal Charles, NFL veteran running back, had a history of scoring on some epic plays. Through his partnership with Crown Royal, Charles is encouraging football fans to be a royal fan by remembering to take that water break while watching their favorite team.

Ahead of this weekend’s NFL playoff games, Charles spoke to FoodSided about his NFL Playoff predictions, the importance of taking that water break and how he stayed on top of his game when he was playing.

This year, Crown Royal partnered with former NFL football players to encourage fans to remember the water break. Part of the Crown Your Game Day, the idea is to work some Water Breaks into the mix. While that classic Crown Royal is satisfying, enjoying a water in between drinks is important. No one wants to be the fan that ruins game day.

Since Jamaal Charles understands what some of those players will be feeling going into this weekend’s NFL playoff games, he mentioned that many of the players will be excited for the opportunity. Still, Charles mentioned that the players have to “raise it to another level.”

Although some teams might have been predicted, a few teams are in uncharted territory. As some people might have expected, Charles is pulling for and predicting that the Chiefs will defeat the Browns. He believes that the Chiefs coaching staff will have the team well prepared to take on the Browns.

Looking the NFC match-up, Charles thinks that it could be difficult for the Saints to defeat the Bucs. He mentioned that although the Saints have defeated the Bucs twice this year, Charles believes that it is difficult for an NFL team to beat a team three times in one season.

Still, Charles appreciates that all the teams will be well prepared for the games. From the Bucs to the Chiefs, the players and coaching staff will have all the teams ready to put it all on the field.

Although this season has been unusual, Charles thinks that the teams would want the fans in the stadium. He thinks that the fans can help support the teams during the game. He made the analogy of empty stands being more like a practice. When it is a big game, the players want to build that excitement and feel the cheers from the fans. Unfortunately, the players can’t hear the fans cheering them on from those screens at home.

While some football players have rituals and pre-game favorite foods, Charles mentioned that he didn’t necessarily subscribe to those ideas when he played. He did mention that he adopted a vegan lifestyle toward the end of his career. He felt that those food choices helped him perform his best.

No matter which team you want to win, think will win or will cheer on to victory, everyone can appreciate the importance of the water break. Just like the players on the field who grab that water, make sure to have a water break in between that Crown Royal while watching the games.
