Believe the hype because the Taco Bell Quesalupa is back, and the favorite Taco Bell menu item is better than ever. Even though the quick service restaurant thinks that you will like this returning food menu item, the first bite of the cheesy shell might have your reaction being a little more emphatic. When can you get that taste of cheese filled Chalupa?

In 2016, the Taco Bell Quesalupa became a legendary limited time menu offering. Only Taco Bell could find a way to bring together the quesadilla and Chalupa in a way that makes it totally irresistible. With this food menu return, the Taco Bell chefs have made it even cheesier.

Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s Global Chief Food Innovation Officer, said “Our customers raved about the cheese filled Chalupa shell in its first debut, so when the Quesalupa began its return journey back to our nationwide menus, we knew we needed to perfect that cheesy experience – one that will be consistent for every guest and every bite.”

What is new about the Taco Bell Quesalupa?

According to Taco Bell, the new Quesalupa features “50 percent more cheese inside its famous double-layered shell.” While the cheese brings the ooey, gooey goodness, it isn’t the only tasty ingredient. The melted pepper jack and mozzarella cheeses, which are stuffed in the chalupa shell, are combined with “seasoned beef, crispy lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, fresh diced tomatoes and cool reduced fat sour cream.” It is a big bite and one that needs a moment to savor.

Last year, some lucky Taco Bell restaurants in Knoxville, Tennessee were taste testing the Quesalupa. Based on that feedback, the new version of the popular Taco Bell menu item is ready to come to the quick service restaurants nationwide.

Starting on March 11, everyone can order one, two or even more Quesalupas at their local Taco Bell restaurants. For Taco Bell Rewards members, that loyalty app has its privileges. Those users can order the fan favorite food on March 10.

If you aren’t a Taco Bell Rewards member, it is easy to sign-up for the program. Maybe the return of the Taco Bell Quesalupa is the incentive to join the program.

Sometimes the return of a quick service restaurant menu item deserves the hype. With the Taco Bell Quesalupa, the hype is real and very tasty. Craving one yet?
