Kellogg’s Cereal Straws are back and it’s time to be a kid again
Even though cereal snacks are trending Kellogg’s Cereal Straws are returning to store shelves after a 12 year hiatus. While cereal is always a tasty meal, the reality is that just using a spoon and a bowl isn’t always enough. Ready to get slurping?
For many people growing up in the 90s, cereal straws were the ultimate treat. While mom always wanted you to drink your milk, plain milk was boring. With this option, it was like getting milk and a treat all in one sip.
While the cereal straw was discontinued in 2009, many people longed for its return. As seen in a Change.org petition, the people wanted that taste of their childhood. It was more than just enjoying that Froot Loop flavor, the reality is that edible straw made eating fun.
In a recent announcement, Kellogg’s Cereal Straws are coming back to store shelves. Available in Froot Loops and Cocoa Krispies flavors, this fan favorite food will be hitting store shelves in October 2021. It will be available in 5 count, 18 count and 24 count options.
The return of the Kellogg’s cereal straws continue a big food trend for the company. Nostalgia and snacking seem to go hand and hand for the company. From the Little Debbie inspired cereal offerings to transforming popular cereals into cereal bars, it seems that the cereal bowl isn’t the only way to get a taste of childhood.
While many people are looking for those nostalgic flavors, it seems that the 90s are the popular decade of the moment. From food to fashion, 90s are filling the table with tastes from the past. Although these tastes are not exact replicas of people’s youth, it does fill a fun food void.
For now, Kellogg’s Cereal Straws fans will have to wait a few more months to enjoy that sip once again. Still, the wait is almost over.
