The iconic Easter commercial has a new star. The 2021 Cadbury Bunny winner has been revealed. While there were over 12,000 entries and almost 30,000 nationwide votes, the Cadbury crown went to Betty the frog.

Betty became both the first-ever amphibian and female Cadbury Bunny winner. Beyond being a natural at hopping, Betty could be the breakout star of the Cadbury Bunny commercials. Even though Kermit has said it isn’t easy being green, it could be time to give frogs a chance.

For Kaitlyn V, Betty’s owner, Betty has been a great addition to their home. She said, “(Betty) has been a wonderful companion at college and thanks to the support of my friends, family and the amphibian community, I know she’ll make Cadbury proud as she inherits the bunny ears.”

Could the 2021 Cadbury Bunny winner represent a hopping new Easter trend?

While the Easter bunny will always be the star of the holiday celebration, it could be time to bring in some hoppy friends. Why can’t some brightly colored green frogs hop into the Easter basket?

With all the Easter candy that can be on the table, inspiration can come from the Betty’s brightly green colors. Why not add some green jelly beans to the mix? What about some green mint candies? The possibilities are many.

Of course, for many people, an Easter celebration is not complete without enjoying at least one Cadbury egg. There is something quite tempting about the creamy center surrounded by chocolate.

And, those Cadbury Crème eggs can be transformed into a variety of Easter desserts. From making a stuffed cookie to brownies to cakes to even a Cadbury Egg bomb brownie, the sweet dessert options are many. Basically, that popular Easter candy isn’t limited to just the Easter basket.
