Wine can be part of a balanced lifestyle and Cupcake LightHearted Sauvignon Blanc is the newest varietal to join the conversation. While many people enjoy that glass of wine to end the day, this beverage option isn’t tinged with guilt. Ready to pour some wine in your glass?

According to Cupcake Vineyards, “60% of wine drinkers said they want to find a lighter option of their favorite drink, however, 52% feel like they have to sacrifice flavor when opting for a lower calorie adult beverage.” Putting willpower aside, lack of flavor satisfaction can lead to undoing positive choices. Whether it is grabbing another beverage because the flavor doesn’t fulfill or passing over the category completely, the reality is flavor trumps lower calorie options.

When the Cupcake LightHearted was launched many people turned to the lower calorie wine to take a sip of the buzz worth product. Since many people enjoy the various Cupcake Vineyards offerings, this new take on their wines had many people eager to open a bottle.

What wine drinkers found in those bottles was wines that delivered the brand’s familiar flavors. For example, the Rose wine was almost identical to the Cupcake Vineyards option. When presented with such similar choices, who won’t venture towards a low calorie alternative?

Building on that success, spring has brought a new wine, Cupcake Lighthearted Sauvignon Blanc. According to Jessica Tomei, winemaker for Cupcake LightHearted, the “versatile wine and will be perfect for spring and summer sipping.” While many of the flavor notes fit within a classic sauvignon blanc profile, the wine offers “intense flavors and crisp finish.”

Having recently opened a bottle of this wine, the wine is a delightful choice for a light spring meal or even a summer barbecue. Served simply with a black garlic marinated, grilled chicken thigh and a side of corn muffins, the crisp flavors cut through the richness of the chicken.

While this wine is lovely on its own, it would be equally delightful as a spritz or even as a component in a wine cocktail. A few pieces of fresh fruit with some bubbles could make for an effervescent sangria.

When thinking about a balanced lifestyle, deprivation shouldn’t be part of the conversation. The reality is that there are options that satisfy both cravings and flavors. With Cupcake LightHearted, the wine makers are showing that wine drinkers can have it all.
