Worst Cooks in America Season 22 episode 2: Lucky Las Vegas
After the returning recruits stepped back into the Worst Cooks in America kitchen, Anne Burrell and Michael Symon had both pleasant and unlikely discoveries in the season premiere. Although some skills had been forgotten since their last time in bootcamp, the reality is that these recruits need a little luck on their side. Who is ready to roll the dice in this Las Vegas themed episode?
According to Food Network, Worst Cooks in America Season 22 episode 2, “Viva Las Bootcamp” features the following:
"Boot camp is transformed into the Las Vegas Strip, and although the recruits had to cash out early in their seasons, this is their chance to finally hit the jackpot! The teams go head-to-head in a series of casino-themed culinary challenges. Then, after winning some “cheddar” in the money booth, chefs Anne Burrell and Michael Symon challenge their teams to make gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. For the main dish challenge, they dive into the deep end and make high-end seafood dishes. The bottom recruits on each team must compete in a blind elimination challenge, and unfortunately it’s the end of the line for one competitor."
Looking at the two teams (Rocking Red Stars: Stephanie, Jonathan, Sadie, Joey and Blue Team: Jefferson, Domaine, Eric, Lulu), it is hard to tell which team will do better in a culinary challenge. Although there were some missteps in the first episode, no one had extreme mistakes. In a Worst Cooks scenario, that result is a huge win.
For the grilled cheese challenge, these recruits should be able to master this concept. Even though there is a huge difference between a gourmet grilled cheese and a bland grilled cheese, the concept can be accomplished. From the perfect cheese combination to crisp edges on the bread, that delicious bite is within reach.
Although all recruits were safe in the first episode, someone will go home this week. A blind elimination challenge will be quite difficult for the recruits. Even the best chefs can struggle in this type of challenge. If either bottom recruit can find a way to succeed, those efforts need to be applauded.
