FOX might become the Gordon Ramsay channel. In a recent announcement, his new show Next Level Chef joins the other Ramsay shows, Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back and Gordon Ramsay’s American Road Trip. With this newest program, Ramsay earns the distinction of being the “only culinary talent on air in the United States with four primetime national network shows.” (per Variety.com) It seems that Ramsay has taken over the airwaves.

Over the years, culinary competitions and food television has evolved. It is more than just a 30 minute cooking demo where a home cook learns how to make a particular recipe. Today’s food television shows bring excitement to the screen. While there is an element of entertainment, food still drives that desire to watch.

For Ramsay fans, his personality is a huge draw for these food television shows. Whether it is the quick witted banter that flies in Hell’s Kitchen or the unusual foods that he samples during a road trip, the reality is that Ramsay is part of the zeitgeist for the culinary world. Everyone, young or old, chef or foodie, wants to earn his respect.

What can people expect from Next Level Chef, the new Gordon Ramsay show?

According to Variety, the newest FOX show to join the line-up will include Nyesha Arrington and Gino D’Acampo in addition to Ramsay. The trio will help to mold talented chefs into the next big food sensation.

Ramsay said, “This is the next evolution of cooking competitions.” Sharing that the show is “big and bold,” it will be interesting to see how Ramsay’s signature style blends both with Arrington and D’Acampo as well as the format of the show.

As shared in Variety, the cooking competition is a “culinary gauntlet set.” The three-story high stage offers various challenges on each level. It will be curious to see how the chefs traverse each section.

In addition, the contestants are competing for a $25,000 prize. The show will include people from all areas of the culinary world including home cooks, line cook, food truck owners, social media foodies and more.

The exact release date for Next Level Chef has not be confirmed at this time. This summer, FOX will be airing new seasons of both Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef.
