BBQ Brawl Season 2 premiere: Time to light the fire for some new ‘Que

The battle of the best barbecue is back on Food Network with BBQ Brawl Season 2. In addition to Bobby Flay and Michael Symon manning the flames, Eddie Jackson is joining the competition. Which chef and his team will earn the glory this time around?

According to the Food Network, BBQ Brawl Season 2 premiere, “Introduce Your ‘Que” features the following:

"The Brawl is back! A new crop of barbecue pitmasters step onto the scene and introduce themselves through their food. Captains Bobby Flay, Michael Symon and Eddie Jackson choose their teams and get ready for battle, and nothing is off limits as they face off in their first team brawl in hopes of avoiding elimination."

In the first episode of the season, it can be hard to determine any potential frontrunner or overall outcome. Even though all the pitmasters are talented, the introduction dishes should give a glimpse of their food philosophy. From the seasoning blends to the cooking techniques, those first dishes might be their most important dishes ever.

While the individual pitmasters are looking for cooking glory, it really comes down to picking the right team. It is more than having multiple superstars battling for supremacy. The team needs to balance talents and perspectives to have a well-rounded group.

Still, the Food Network chefs are wanting bragging rights in this culinary competition. One of the reasons why Season 1 was successful revolved around the banter between Bobby Flay and Michael Symon. The two good friends wanted to win. That aspect of the competition made it even more entertaining to watch.

Adding Eddie Jackson into the mix changes the dynamic. It will be interesting to see how a third chef and team impacts the competition.

In the end, many people will watch BBQ Brawl Season 2 to learn some barbecue tips and tricks. Hopefully, there will be a few ideas that the aspiring grill master can apply at home.
