Is cherry limeade the beverage trend of the summer?

Some flavors are summer beverage traditions. While lemonade is always a refreshing choice, cherry limeade seems to be the beverage trend of the summer. Is cherry limeade that sip of nostalgia that everyone is craving?

Recently, Sensient Flavors found that many consumers have “turned to familiar dishes and flavors to help them cope with the stress.” In addition, many of those “familiar recipes” were chosen for the “nostalgic factor.” Overall, people are finding that “nostalgic flavors can provide comfort in times of stress.”

Looking around the beverage aisle, it seems that cherry limeade is everywhere. While Sonic might have been some people’s preference, it isn’t the only refreshment in the glass.

For example, SVEDKA Vodka launched a Cherry Limeade vodka recently. This latest flavored vodka joins the brand’s other options like, Blue Raspberry, Strawberry Lemonade and Mango Pineapple.

As Jaymie Schoenberg, Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing for SVEDKA Vodka, said, this flavor is “essence of summertime, a way to transform into the summer mindset in just one sip.”

Thinking about the SVEDKA Vodka offering, it can be enjoyed simply with some soda and a lime wedge or it is even more enjoyable in a cocktail. Here’s an example that would be a hit at any summer barbecue.

Cherry Limeade Mule

Ingredients:

• 2 parts SVEDKA Cherry Limeade
• 2 parts Ginger Beer
• 1 Lime Wedges
• 4 Maraschino Cherries

Method:

• Muddle cherries in an old fashioned glass. Add SVEDKA Cherry Limeade and ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wedge and cherry.

Have hard seltzers joined the cherry limeade trend?

Since hard seltzers continue to soar in popularity, a couple of brands have joined the cherry limeade discussion. For fans of that Sonic beverage, the must try hard seltzer is the Two Lane Hard Seltzer flavor.

With  Two Lane, beverage brand from Luke Bryan, the cherry limeade hard seltzer really captures that sweet, yet tart, flavor. Although you do not have to serve it over crushed ice, it is quite refreshing on a hot day, while relaxing in the sun.

Bud Light has joined the cherry limeade conversation with its Retro Summer Pack seltzers. Available as one of the three flavors in the multi-pack, the hard seltzer is sweet with a hint of tartness.
