Universal Orlando brings a taste of Tokyo to its theme park
While excitement is still high over the Velocicoaster opening and many people are enjoying the Summer Bites menu, Universal Orlando is celebrating the Summer Olympics with a taste of Tokyo. In the shadows of the images of U.S. athletes, these bites and beverages definitely earn a spot on the podium.
Recently, Universal Orlando has been pushing the boundaries with its food options. From the new Costa Rican inspired dishes in the Jurassic Park area to treats in the Tribute Store, it seems that every visit offers a new food to try. In some cases, guests might walk under the arch just to enjoy food, the thrill rides are just a bonus.
Located on the lawn, in front of the stage, the taste of Tokyo menu offers a variety of food and beverage options. After grabbing a Kirin Ichiban beer as a little refreshment before making a choice, it can be hard to only choose one option. In some ways, a sampler plate or sharing plates with friends can be a great idea.
The various kiosks have different menu choices. The bowls might change people’s perspective on tofu. The combination of watermelon radish and marinated cucumbers on a hot day is refreshing.
Other tofu options on the menu include a crispy tofu and a marinated tofu. These dishes show that tofu can be quite flavorful when done well.
Also, the taste of Tokyo menu includes a variety of sushi options. These choices are more traditional sushi, like rainbow roll and vegan roll.
Of course, there are several sweet treats on the menu. The mochi sampler is a terrific choice. If guests haven’t had a red bean dessert, this mochi sampler will make them a fan.
Lastly, there are plenty of sake options on menu. Just be cautious. Sake is refreshing and delightful, but it is a strong wine. It is best to sip and savor one on a hot day, not drink one too quickly.
The taste of Tokyo offerings are available at select times within Universal Studios. Price per menu item varies.
