MasterChef Legends episode 6 preview: First Mystery Box challenge revealed

According to FOX, MasterChef Legends: “Michael Mina – Meat Roulette” features the following:

"It’s the home cooks’ first Mystery Box challenge and to add to the pressure, Michelin Star chef Michael Mina is the guest judge of this week’s challenge. The cooks must create a MASTERCHEF-worthy beef dish without knowing what cut of beef they will be cooking until the mystery box is opened in the all-new “Legends: Michael Mina – Meat Roulette” episode of MASTERCHEF airing Wednesday, July 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

As Aaron Sanchez previously shared, he believes that the Mystery Box challenge is always difficult for the home cooks. From being able to think on their feet to executing a great dish, those unknown ingredients can lead the home cooks down an uncertain path. Can these dishes offer a flavor that will impress the judges?

Joining the Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Aaron Sanchez is Michael Mina. While Chef Mina might be introduced as the legends of surf and turf, the celebrated chef is far more than dueling proteins on a plate. His restaurants impress diners across the globe. With a commitment to always delivering the most craveable food, Chef Mina will be a tough chef to impress.

Although MasterChef Legends is still in the beginning of the competition, a few home cooks are starting to separate themselves from the field. Even though the dishes are far from perfect, the nuance in the successful dishes have put some home cooks on a successful path. It will be interesting to see how the first Mystery Box challenge could change the potential leaders.
