Buddy vs Duff Season 3 premiere: Welcome to the Animal Kingdom

In Buddy vs Duff Season 3, either Buddy Valastro or Duff Goldman will have bragging rights in the bakery. With both Food Network stars having won a season of Buddy vs Duff, this new season is about bragging rights. There can only be one reigning king in this competition.

According to the Food Network, the Buddy vs. Duff Season 3 premiere, “Animal Kingdom,” features the following:

"Two titans of cake, Buddy Valastro and Duff Goldman, kick off a new competition with cakes inspired by an African safari. Team Buddy creates three fantastic beasts while Team Duff crafts a lion catching its prey, and a panel of 50 talented cake artists from across America vote on the winner."

While part of the show’s premise remains the same, a brand new element has been added to the Food Network competition. 50 cake artists will be judging each challenge. While some of the faces will be familiar, like Jewel Johnson. It could be an opportunity to be introduced to some other great bakers around the country.

Of course, the competition is just one aspect of this show. Both Buddy and Duff have had many big changes over the past year. Duff became a father and Buddy is recovering from his gut wrenching hand accident.

Even though they both had big personal changes, they are wanting to win. No matter the situation, they will be pushing the boundaries of cake artistry.

Looking at the synopsis, a common theme seems to be taking shape. Buddy goes big, really big. With multiple pieces, he tends to use size to impress.

On the other hand, Duff is all about the details. The idea of a lion catching its prey is quite unusual. Could this display be as impressive as the Battlecorn?
