After channeling Roy Choi and the bold flavors of street food, the home cooks need to find inspiration a little closer to home. Will drawing from their own personal legends have the home cooks feeling even more pressure as the competition heats up in MasterChef Legends episode 10?

According to FOX, MasterChef Legends “Cook for Your Legend” episode features the following:

"Chef Ramsay challenges the home cooks to create a dish for the most important legend yet – their own personal legends. Their personal legends could be someone they look up to, a personal hero, or even a family member who inspires them. One home cook’s dish will end up on the chopping block in the all-new “Cook for Your Legend” episode of MASTERCHEF airing Wednesday, Aug. 18 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (MCH-1110)"

This episode could bring a big shake-up to the MasterChef Legends kitchen. Although Joseph earned immunity in last week’s episode, the remaining chefs will be feeling the pressure. With so many options on the table, impressing the judges with a dish that channels their personal legend can be overwhelming. Those emotions can turn that dish from tribute to tribulation.

Given that this challenge is quite broad based, it could have the home cooks spinning their wheels. Sometimes the parameters of the challenge can help them edit a dish. For example, that mystery box challenge has parameters. Of course, if all the elements aren’t on the plate, the home cook goes home (like Tay). But, those ingredients give a dish direction. You can’t put five different flavors on a plate because it will be muddled.

This situation has caused Alejandro to falter. From too many ingredients to a complicated plate, his dishes have seen him in the bottom several times. Being able to focus and execute is key to his success.

On the other hand, Lexi has struggled with confidence. Sometimes attitude and emotion are key to a great dish. If the home cook doesn’t believe in herself, how can the judges feel confident about her food?

As the competition gets harder, the home cooks need to step up their game. While Suu has been quiet up to this point, it could be time for her to prove that her cuisine deserves a spot on the table. Her creativity impressed at the start of MasterChef Legends, but hasn’t shined as brightly recently.

Just like Hell’s Kitchen, every cook can have a bad day, but it is how they recover that makes them a great chef. Which home cook will prove that their personal legend will drive their ultimate success?
