Jack’d Up Experience turns Cabana Bay into Chilling Blood-curdling Bay
As the leader of Halloween Horror Nights 30, Jack is imploring everyone to embrace that maniacal side. At the Jack’d Up Experience at Cabana Bay, the interactive event has Jack tempting guests to step into his lair and see what the dark side has to offer. Are you prepared to blend up a some devious treats?
With the spooky season in full swing, Universal Orlando has brought spooky experiences through the resort. From specialty cocktails at the various resort bars to frighteningly good food options, the Halloween season is more than just the ghouls that come out during Halloween Horror Nights 30.
This year, Cabana Bay is hosting a special guest experience called the Jack’d Up Experience. This special interactive walk-through event is meant to bring a taste of the theme park to the resort hotel. While not quite as extreme as the Halloween Horror Nights 30 haunted houses and scare zones, it is a little creepy and a great homage to this year’s master of horror ceremonies.
The special experience starts with guests seeing a variety of props. As guests round the corners, they can choose to place themselves into the blender. With a touch of a button, they can be pulverized into a cloud of smoke.
The blender moment makes for a fun photo op. From being overly dramatic or quite stoic, it could be that new video that will be your favorite moment to share.
After being blended, guests can travel down a small hallway to Jack’s lair. At point, he has a special message waiting for all his unsuspecting guests.
Overall, the Jack’d Up Experience is meant to be a short, interactive, photo opportunity. It isn’t too scary, but it is a great compliment to Halloween Horror Nights 30.
In some ways, it is similar to the Stranger Things experience from HHN29. While that experience might have had more iconic show scenes, the feeling is similar. If you are not quite as familiar with Jack and his backstory, this walk-through might need a little explanation.
Thinking about this special experience, it would be interesting to see how Cabana Bay could leverage this idea beyond Halloween Horror Nights. Given the many Universal characters and beloved movie scenes, there are a myriad of possibilities for these types of walk-through experiences. Many hotel guests might want to choose a hotel based on the special experience.
The Jack’d Up Experience is available at Cabana Bay through October 31. It is for Universal Orlando Resort guests.
What is your favorite Halloween Horror Nights experience? Do you visit more than once during the season?
