While the sweet life might fill the theme park, Chocolate Meltdown Hersheypark After Dark has a creepy-crawly carnival taking over the nighttime air. While the daytime is filled with colorful lights and laughter in the air, the empty theme park longs for those sweet notes to fill the void. Can these chefs put the fun back into this creepy-crawly carnival?

According to the Food Network, Chocolate Meltdown Hersheypark After Dark “Creepy-Crawly Carnival” episode features the following:

"Three pastry chefs are locked in an abandoned Hersheypark overnight to reveal who has the most-inspired take on a creepy-crawly carnival. The competitors take a spin on one of the park’s most-dizzying rides, and then back in Chocolate World, a self-taught gravity-defying cake artist quickly runs into problems that force her to adjust her design on the fly. Meanwhile, an adrenaline junkie sugar artist almost loses a battle against a 33-pound slab of dark chocolate, and a sculpting enthusiast uses enough Hershey’s candy to empty the whole store! With $10,000 and a dream vacation in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on the line, only one chef can truly wow host Sunny Anderson and judges Ralph Attanasia and Maneet Chauhan with their chocolate and candy mastery, interpretation of the theme and tastiness of their treats."

Since Food Network is celebrating Ghostober, the creepy element seems to fit the food television programming theme. Although Hershey’s candy is always sweet, sometimes there is a little spooky in the mix. Remember that Witches Brew might cast a spell that has everyone craving another Kit Kat.

Looking at the various competitors, it will be interesting to see if there is a certain strategy that helps to bring success. Given the different backgrounds, the displays will take various approaches. But, only one will be the winner.

Since this food television competition takes place within the theme park, it will be interesting to see how the rides and atmosphere impacts the competition. Spinning rides might have the chefs a little off kilter at the start. It will be interesting to see how the rides connect to the challenge. Although the idea is not to recreate the ride in sugar, that experience and feeling should be felt in the sugar display.

One of the interesting aspects of this challenge will be how the chefs approach the design. There is limited time with twists along the way. Sugar art is fragile, and anything can happen. Sometimes a smart design might be the best approach to pave a path to victory.
