The witches, zombies and ghosts oh my are getting thirsty as Scary Sunday approaches. Drizly recently surveyed some recent beverage shopping data. Could this information change what’s in your cup for Halloween?

According to Drizly, the most requested beverage is American whiskey. While that liquor has a wide range of options, it is a change from previous year. Wine has topped that list. Maybe that bottle of red wine doesn’t quite seduce like in year’s past.

What are the most popular beers for Scary Sunday?

According to Drizly, the top five most requested beers are the following:

  • 1) Elysian Pumpkin Patch Variety Pack
  • 2) Natty Daddy
  • 3) Voodoo Ranger Rotating IPA Series, Future Hop IPA
  • 4) Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest German-Style Lager Beer
  • 5) Samuel Adams Sweater Weather Seasonal Beer Variety Pack

Looking at this list, the majority of beers are seasonal. Although Oktoberfest season is reaching its end, the other beers are fall favorites. From pumpkin beers to heartier flavors, it seems that the light lager has faded like the summer tan.

Although most people will not necessarily have a super scary good delivery of Elysian Pumpkin Patch Variety Pack, those beers receive big cheers when they arrive at the door. Whether it is the classic Night Owl or the coffee forward Punkuccino, all the flavors in this variety pack are a winner.

With the Samuel Adams Sweater Weather Seasonal Beer Variety Pack, a similar reasoning applies. Although this variety pack isn’t completely pumpkin flavored, it does have a heartier flavor profile for the crisp, chilly temperatures. From sitting by the fire to snuggling on the couch, these beers offer a sip of comfort.

If all this beer conversation has created a thirst, Drizly is offering a discount on order. According to the brand, Drizly users “can use HALLOWEEN5 for free delivery of $5 off from 10/28 – 11/1 on Drizly.com or the Drizly app.”
