For some people, HEINZ Gravy is a Thanksgiving holiday essential. From mashed potatoes to saving that dry turkey, that gravy boat is a savior on many tables. This year, that gravy boat is more than part of the tablescape. It is a story that the kids will want to devour time and again.

The old song over the river and through the woods can lead kids to feeling overwhelmed. That family gathering and dinner is not the typical day. From being banished to the kids’ table to food that might not be their favorite, there is much uncertainty at the holidays.

According to Kaitlyn Kicia, Marketing Lead, HEINZ Gravy, “For generations, the HEINZ brand has helped people find the magic in the everyday moments and the special occasions that bring us together like Thanksgiving. We all love Thanksgiving but know it can be dry at times for kids. We believe a good story always makes things more interesting, so we’re on a mission to fight dryness by releasing an original children’s book inspired by our favorite Thanksgiving sauce and bring some much-needed entertainment to younger readers.”

This year, HEINZ Gravy has created its first ever children’s book, “Grace and the Gravy Pirates.” This story shares Grace’s adventure to make the holiday less dry and more flavorful. With the help of the Gravy Pirates, that Thanksgiving meal is going to be memorable and magical.

Although that traditional gravy boat might not be traveling an epic adventure, it could be a way to spark some spirited conversation at the holiday table. As the gravy boat passes from person to person, it could be a way to share a story, memory or even a statement of gratitude. Sometimes it just takes a little twist to add just the right seasoning to the dinner.

The book, Grace and the Gravy Pirates, is a free book available to download on Amazon. In addition, Grace and that gravy boat will set sail during the 95th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

What ways does your family keep that Thanksgiving meal from being dry? Could that gravy boat add a little adventure to the holiday table this year?
