California Pizza Kitchen finally brings back this original menu item

While people can debate favorite pizza toppings or even pizza crust preferences, California Pizza Kitchen fans have been longing for the return of this original menu item. Although there are many California-pizza style flavors on the menu, fans have been requesting this one pizza and now the popular restaurant is delivering.

Now available, both the Santa Fe Chicken Pizza and Jamaican Jerk Pizza have returned to the menu. As CPK CEO, Jim Hyatt said, “Every so often we take polls on which pizzas our guests would like to see return and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizza and Santa Fe Chicken pizza are always the top two, so we are more than happy to relaunch these fan favorites.”

Part of the California Pizza Kitchen original menu in 1985, the flavor captured that pizza revolution. Highlighting unique toppings on its signature hand-tossed dough, the Santa Fe Chicken Pizza became a huge success.

Since it has been 20 years since the fan favorite has been on a menu, some people might need a refresher on all the delicious goodness. The marinated chicken breast is flavored with lime and herbs. Joining the chicken are red onion and Monterey Jack cheese. Then, the pizza is topped with “fresh cilantro, sour cream, smashed avocado and homemade roasted tomato salsa.”

This pizza proved that the dough doesn’t have to hold just red sauce and mozzarella. Pizza can be a vehicle for almost any flavor.

Joining the fan favorite Santa Fe Chicken pizza is the Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Featuring the bold flavors of the classic Caribbean sauce, the combination of spicy and sweet is almost irresistible.

Served on the CPK thin crust, that extra crunch highlights all the other ingredients. From the Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon to the bell peppers, the flavors seem to bring a taste of the islands to the plate.
