For some people, a balanced life is more than healthy eating and a positive mindset. Pure Leaf has long touted the importance of the power of no. Continuing its No Is Beautiful campaign, the brand seeks to encourage women to learn the art of no. While it might be NO-vember, the ability to empower a personal voice isn’t limited to just one month a year.

Women are often the ones who seem to have the world piled on their shoulders. From the desire to nurture others, some women feel that they are always saying yes. That ever growing to-do list can lead to feeling overwhelmed. At some point, there needs to be an end without a side of guilt piled on top.

The No Is Beautiful campaign from Pure Leaf stemmed from the idea that the brand never used shortcuts, but the mantra has become a way to celebrate the powerful voices of women. As Katrina McDonald, Senior Marketing Director, Pepsi-Lipton Partnership, said “Many people are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain a sense of normalcy these days, but women in particular find themselves challenged at saying “no” and recognizing that it’s an appropriate response.”

In the latest campaign, Pure Leaf joined forces renowned poet, speaker and author Arielle Estoria as well as visual artists Ashley Uananiau Lukashevsky and Perryn Ryan to bring those words to life. Even after these images disappear from view, the impact of learning to appreciate the art of no remains. Like any art form, the impact lingers and evolves over time.

Even for those woman who did not see these murals, the concept is one that everyone can appreciate. While it can be tempting to say yes to every offer, the reality is that people need to know their boundaries.

Although pouring a glass of Pure Leaf Tea might not be a life changing moment, it can be a moment of contemplation. Sometimes just a pause can be that reset which everyone needs.

As the yearning to say yes seems empowering, the words of Estoria seem to resonate more. “Our No Is Beautiful,” but it can only be appreciated when it is uttered with confidently.
