It might not be one of the elves four major food groups, but the Dairy Queen holiday Blizzard flavor does make the season merry and bright. Even on snowy days that are filled with the winter chill, this frozen dessert always brings the smiles. Red is the color of the season, and the red spoon is ready to dig into another Blizzard.

Dairy Queen is unwrapping another gift with the return of the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard Treat. For anyone who loves candy canes but prefers for someone else to unwrap them, this frozen dessert is a must. With candy cane pieces and choco chunks, that infamous DQ soft is dressed up for the holiday season.

While the holiday Blizzard flavor is back, it isn’t the only option on the menu. DQ has brought back the Frozen Hot Chocolate. The highly requested fan favorite is bringing an extra sip of merriment to the season.

The Frozen Hot Chocolate has no one worry about burning their tongue by sipping too quickly. The signature DQ vanilla soft serve is blended with cocoa fudge. Topped with a chocolate drizzle and whipped topping, it is a sip of perfection.

Although this version doesn’t have any little marshmallows, you could bring some of your own to add as a garnish. Then again, not everyone likes marshmallows with hot chocolate.

The Dairy Queen holiday offerings show that seasonal flavors can be incorporated into frozen desserts. Just because the chilly temperatures fill the air doesn’t mean that people do not want ice cream. Sometimes the best times are spent curled up under a blanket by the fire with a frozen dessert. People aren’t screaming for ice cream just during the summer months.

What is your favorite seasonal frozen dessert? Do you enjoy Dairy Queen all year long?
