Wingstop’s new flavor gives guests the flavor trend they crave
While there is always a reason to order chicken wings, the new Wingstop flavor is an excuse to make a special order. After listing to guests’ requests, the new sweet and spicy flavor will have people cheering. Hungry for some Orange Szechuan yet?
Many people have a chicken wing flavor preference. While the extreme heat flavors often get people talking, the reality is that many people prefer a little more balance with all that spice. The sweet and heat brings people coming back for more.
According to Wingstop, the Orange Szechuan sauce “features mandarin orange, soy and traditional Szechuan peppers.” This offering is the restaurant’s twist on the classic. While the sweet and spicy is apparent, the soy adds an element of umami. It is the balance that is needed to pull the two flavors together.
As Wingstop’s Chief Growth Officer Marisa Carona, said, “our Orange Szechuan wings and thighs will create a fun new flavor experience. Our unique Wingstop take on Orange Szechuan creates a sweet and spicy flavor profile inspired by the most authentic ingredients.”
Although the restaurant brand has 11 flavors in its lineup, this offering was added because guests requested the flavor. By listening guests’ cravings and flavor trends, Wingstop can ensure that it is always giving people a reason to make another visit.
While Carona mentioned that Wingstop is looking forward “to offering new and exciting flavors,” that statement seems to lead people to anticipate other limited time flavors in the future. Although no future details were revealed, it seems to be likely that Wingstop will continue to listen to its guests as it adds new offerings to its menu.
More importantly, guests should be vocal about flavors that they like. Since restaurants want to have menu items that excite people, there are more opportunities to have their voices heard.
The new Wingstop flavor, Orange Szechuan, is available on wings and thighs. It is available for a limited time, but the exact duration is unclear.
