Reese’s University marches to greatness at the Rose Parade

The annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade festivities are full of splendor and pageantry. At the 133rd Rose Parade, a third university will join Ohio State University and the University of Utah to kick of the New Year. While Reese’s University might not be competing on the grid iron, the Fighting Cuppies are ready to kick off 2022 with a taste of sweetness that everyone can appreciate.

Getting an invitation to the prestigious Rose Bowl and Rose Parade represents hard work and dedication by both the players and the university. From grueling practices to triumphant victories, running onto the field for that bowl game is a celebration regardless of the final score.

While the well-crafted plays that lead to a win have football fans cheering, the 133rd Rose Parade celebrates the history of annual event. As the floats and performers march, everyone marvels at the stunning looks created with flowers, fruits and other items.

David Eads, Executive Director/CEO of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses made the unprecedented announcement. saying “we’re thrilled to offer an invitation to Reese’s University to take part in Rose Bowl events.” While Reese’s University and its Fighting Cuppies are new to the higher education field, they are ready to make a sweet impression on the Rose Parade and Pasadena Tournament of Roses fans.

According to Reese’s University, its float will be “55 feet long, complete with a larger-than-life 23- foot tall Cuppy. The float, appropriately titled Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Success, will be covered with over 25,000 flowers.”

In some ways, this particular float has everyone putting aside the rivalries and cheering for the one thing that many people stand behind, the deliciousness of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and celebrating everyone’s potential in a sweet environment. Whether it is the perfect balance of chocolate to peanut butter, the sweetness, or just eating satisfaction, no one will ever be sorry for eating a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup. At the same time, people need to appreciate that bold ideas can lead to being satisfied.

And, while Reese’s might not have any control over which team raises the trophy at the end of the game, everyone can either cheer their victory or drown their sorrows with a little help from the Fighting Cuppies. Their record remains unblemished. From the love of the cup to the love of the game, everyone can find a little extra smile when enjoying a Reese’s peanut butter cup.
