With two eliminations in the books, Next Level Chef episode 4 looks might have a few chefs who are feeling a little skittish. Although the team can help keep one mistake off the chopping, skating on the success of others might not be the best plan. Which chef will need to fly to the top or fear the chance of being plucked from the crowd?

According to FOX, Next Level Chef episode 4, “Fowl Play” features the following:

"Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais challenge their teams to create a poultry dish! Each team is randomly assigned to a kitchen, where they will need to prove that they can create magic in any environment, even when the odds are stacked against them. The best dish will keep one entire team safe from elimination, but one contestant will be sent home with their dreams up in flames in the all-new “Fowl Play” episode of NEXT LEVEL CHEF airing Wednesday, Jan. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

Although this synopsis doesn’t necessarily offer a lot of insight into the upcoming episode, the reality is that just the topic could be a game changer for the cooks. After tackling steak and Italian food, the teams have taken different approaches to the two challenges.

While it is unclear which theme was more challenging, the key to success has been the concept that well-prepared cook is the one that succeeds. Forgetting ingredients or not having a plan does not bode well for earning a top status. While perfect execution is expected, not having all of the components is part of that impressive dish.

As seen in the first couple of episodes, the various kitchen levels may not be the most influential factor in the competition. Bottom chefs have risen to the occasion and top level kitchens have faltered. Maybe having everyone in the same kitchen could level the playing field.

Currently, it is hard to determine which team holds an advantage. While Team Arrington still has all its members, that isn’t necessarily a bonus. Potentially cutting a little fat from the group might not be a bad thing.

But, having a well-rounded team that can help the group move into the next round has its benefits. It is too bad that each episode’s winning chef doesn’t get a special prize or advantage for that opening round win.

In Next Level Chef episode 4, another cook will fly the coup. Will poultry make a favorite get plucked? Don’t forget to watch on Wednesday, January 19 at 9 p.m. EST.
