Certain songs can elicit a reaction. It could be a rousing anthem that gets fans cheering for their team or a jingle that just makes people crave a particular food. With the ESPN Ice Cream Truck, now that DaDaDa DaDaDa could have everyone screaming for ice cream.

Sports fans have flocked to Las Vegas this weekend. It is a triple header of sporting events with UFC Fight Night, NHL All-Star Game and NFL Pro Bowl all happening on what might be the ultimate sports weekend.

While all that action has everyone excited, sometimes people need a moment to chill. Although a libation or two can help take the edge off during a nail-bitter, sometimes a big victory needs a sweet reward, enter the ESPN Ice Cream Truck.

In honor of all the sporting events in Las Vegas this weekend, the first ever EPSN Ice Cream Truck will be handing out free ice cream. The special ice cream truck will be driving around the stadiums and arenas. In addition, it will be parked at the NHL Fan Fair, outside the Las Vegas Convention Center.

What ice cream will the ESPN Ice Cream Truck serve?

To celebrate the first ever ESPN Ice Cream Truck, the three flavors take inspiration from the weekend’s sporting events. They are “Puckwich” Oreo Sandwich, Vanilla KO Crunch bar, and The Blitz Pop. While the names are a fun play on words, the flavors are classic.

Whether or not these sweet treats bring a little luck to the sporting events remains to be seen, but everyone will be cheering for free ice cream. Win, lose or draw, free ice cream makes everyone feel like a champion.

The ESPN Ice Cream Truck follows the network’s successful ESPN Postseasoning launch during the College Football Playoff National Championship. Created to capture the flavor of the post-season, that seasoning was more than just bold. The combination of ingredients worked on a variety of foods. From tailgating favorite food to even a simple chicken breast, it was most successful in its versatility. In some ways, the flavor captured the elements of being a champion.

These offerings from ESPN seem to appreciate that food and sports are forever tied. Whether it is that tailgate, snacks on the couch or even a sweet treat to celebrate a victory, food is part of the sports moment. The love of peanuts and Cracker Jack at a ballgame isn’t just a song lyric.

Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see what food offering ESPN has planned next. With Spring Training around the corner, could ESPN take a crack at a new food trend. It might not be Guy Fieri’s Apple Pie Hot Dog, but it could be epic.
