Why is Jose Cuervo giving away so many limes for National Margarita Day?
This year’s National Margarita Day falls on February 22, 2022, which is 2-22-22. While there may or may not be a numerological significance to the series of twos, some people might find this occurrence as a reason to raise a toast. For Jose Cuervo, they are making sure there is an burst of brightness in that margarita. Anyone need a lime?
Everyone knows that a classic margarita needs that sour flavor, which often comes from citrus. Although there is some sweetness, the punch of brightness keeps it balanced.
The classic margarita is lime forward. Although there are many variations on the original recipe, lime is still part of the cocktail. Even with some other fruit variations, there is even a lime garnish. Basically, without the lime, where is the margarita?
In honor of National Margarita Day falling on February 22, 2022, Jose Cuervo is giving away 22,222 limes. The numerical connection is clear. And, one lucky person will get the win a trip to Mexico to visit the brand’s distillery and Cabo San Lucas. More information on the 22,222 limes giveaway can be found online. The contest runs through February 22, 2022.
