Outshine Fruit and Yogurt Pouches offer more fruit on the go choices
While those frozen fruit bars are a refreshing, tasty treat, sometimes the moment calls for something that won’t melt before it is enjoyed. As the sun shines brightly, that frozen treat can bring satisfying refreshment but not all occasions make for having a frozen dessert. With the new Outshine Fruit and Yogurt Pouches, the flavorful fruit can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime.
Recently, Outshine found that “86% of parents are interested in snacks that appeal to the whole family.” Given that families want to stock the pantry but want to be conscious of food costs and food waste, a snack that has broad appeal is essential. Even if the intent is for the lunchbox, that food can be grabbed by mom during an afternoon craving.
Building on the versatility, families also want convenience. While the fridge and freezer might be stuffed, those items might not be the most likely choice to enjoy while on the go. Now that more people are no longer stuck on the couch, snack options need to be portable. From single servings to shelf stable, those terms can have consumers picking one option over another.
As Doug Munk, Senior Director of New Business Ventures at Nestlé, who oversees innovation and new products “We know convenience is critical for busy families – seven out of 10 parents are more likely to grab a shelf-stable snack over one they have to keep cold, make at home, cut or heat up. But finding nutritious, on-the-go options that appeal to the whole family can be challenging.”
What are Outshine Fruit and Yogurt Pouches flavors?
While many people are familiar with the various Outshine frozen products, the new Outshine Fruit and Yogurt Pouches take the fruit flavors that people have grown to love, but put them in a grab and go pouch. Each offering has “real fruit ingredients, zero grams of added sugars, and no artificial flavors or colors.”
The new offering comes in four flavors, Blueberry Pear, Peach Raspberry, Strawberry Coconut, and Pear Vanilla. While each offering is fruit forward, the yogurt adds to the creaminess. In addition, it makes the fruit forward snack feel more like a treat than a chore.
Looking at the four offerings, the flavors appeal to both kids and adults. With familiar flavors, like blueberry and strawberry, parents know that kids will willing to grab and enjoy that pouch. At the same time, the flavors are far from bland which appeals to adults.
Looking at the flavor combinations, the reality is that these snacks could even encourage families to push the flavor conversation at home. Maybe pear isn’t the first fruit grabbed out of the bowl, but the blueberry pear flavor could make everyone a little more willing to pick that fruit.
The Outshine Fruit and Yogurt Smoothie Pouches are available at various major retailers, including Food Lion, and they can be purchased via Amazon. The suggested retail price is $4.49.
