Hershey’s believes life is sweeter when we celebrate “she” who inspires us
Many people appreciate that sharing a candy bar can bring a smile to almost any occasion. From a simple moment of gratitude to celebrating a momentous occasion, unwrapping that candy gives everyone a moment to think before that sweetness is enjoyed. Hershey’s is encouraging everyone to take a moment to celebrate the “she” who makes life more full.
In today’s world, a little gratitude can go a long way. While the phrase “thank you” might be said without a care when holding open a door or even passing a plate at dinner, the sentiment of true gratitude can run much deeper. Even if good manners dictate an acknowledgment of the effort, the reality is that some impactful moments may not be marked as often.
Over the years, much has been said about representation in the common collective. While mom might have been a force in the household, her strength in the board room might not be quite as robust. Somehow the person who many turned to as supporter, confidante, and sage seemed to have her voice lessened by the glow of a computer screen.
The Hershey Company appreciates that “she” and her voice is one that can lead. Ranked as the number one “World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies” by Forbes in 2021 and a company led by women, that designation might be sweeter for women’s empowerment than all the candies coming from the brand. In many ways, it is a reason to celebrate the “SHE” in Hershey’s more frequently.
How is Hershey’s celebrating “SHE” for National Women’s History Month?
Over the past couple of years, Hershey’s has put the “SHE” front and center for National Women’s History Month. While the focus is clear for the month of March, there needs to be a reminder that the “she” doesn’t fade away when April begins. Even if the colorful highlight captures the attention for a while, that commitment to her is a sentiment that should be felt all 12 months of the year.
For this year’s celebration, Hershey’s has joined with Mindy Kaling to encourage others to celebrate all the “shes” that are making a difference.
Commenting on the colorful change to the iconic candy bar, Veronica Villasenor, Vice President, US, The Hershey Company said, “We are surrounded by women and girls that inspire us every single day. Creating this simple, but powerful and colorful change to our iconic milk chocolate bar serves as a reminder of how important they are in our lives.”
Since the visual put the conversation front and center, everyone is encouraged to share a story of a “She” who has impacted your life, inspired you or deserves a moment to be celebrated. Using #CelebrateSHE on social media, everyone can see, ready and appreciate these women, girls, “shes” who are making a difference.
