As cocktail drinkers discover the nuances of gin, the botanical spirit has evolved in recent years. Although the herbal notes will never fade from the glass, it is more than just a sip of the woods. With Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin, a new wave of refreshment is hitting the cocktail glass and drinkers are excited to discover this latest offering.

Hendrick’s Gin has never been afraid to push the spirit boundaries. Through some of its limited release offerings, the gin takes on new flavors. While sometimes a little curious, that first sip opens a world of possibilities. Sometimes a little different can reinvigorate what people like about a particular liquor.

With the new Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin, the flavor was inspired by the sea. Although some distillers have sailed barrels on ships to impart the sea air into the maturation process, this idea is less about aging and more about flavor inspiration.

Hendrick’s draws inspiration from the coastal flora for the botanicals. Although not briny, the influence of the sea is present. Blending with zesty citrus, the flavor is refreshing, crisp and invigorating.

This gin can be served simply in a gin and tonic or Gin Gimlet. A cucumber garnish can add to its refreshing qualities. In addition, it is even more exciting when mixed into a cocktail.

For the Bayside Sparking Sangria is a unique take on the vivacious cocktail. The addition of the Hendrick’s Gin keeps the sip from being too sweet. Here’s how to shake one up.

While the Bayside Sangria is a great option for a gathering, it Isn’t the only sea inspired cocktail on the menu. Drawing inspiration from the mythical mermaid, Erik Andersson created the Breeze of the Seven Seas.

Andersson describes this cocktail, “As light as a mermaid’s sock drawer, the Breeze of the Seven Seas is balanced, fruity and oh so refreshing. Not only delicious, crisp citrus and pomegranate are sure to revitalize the senses and transport you to the rocky coastline of the sea.” While there is a little cheekiness to that description, it seems to capture the mood associated with this sea-inspired gin.

Here’s how to make Breeze of the Seven Seas featuring Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin.
