Now that the round of 16 is set, Tournament of Champions Season 3 episode 5 looks to narrow the field even further. Although the randomizer might continue to baffle some of the chefs, there is still plenty of sizzle in the stadium.

According to Food Network, Tournament of Champions Season 3 episode 5, The Super 16 Sizzles, features the following:

"Guy Fieri welcomes the 16 remaining chefs into the arena to congratulate them on making it out of the first round and reveals who will be competing in the four one-on-one sudden death battles tonight. As always, four chefs move one step closer to winning the championship belt, and four chefs head home."

While everyone wants to earn the coveted belt, making it through the first round was harder than it seemed. Although former champions, Maneet Chauhan and Brooke Williamson proved that they want to lift the belt again, other top seeds did not fare as well. With number one and two seeds being overtaken by underdogs, the reality is that anything can happen in Tournament of Champions.

Even though the battles can be unpredictable, the biggest takeaway from the first round is that the chefs need to highlight the required “random” ingredients. Parsley cannot be forgotten or asparagus should not be hidden.

Similar to any Food Network competition, these chefs need to not only execute but also adapt. The reality is that everyone can cook. But, the question is who can be the most creative. Unique ways of using ingredients or finding an unforeseen approach to the dish will earn praises from the judges.

For the Round of 16, it is anyone’s guess whether or not the favorites will move on. While many people can hope for some epic re-matches or a new star chef to emerge from the group, the reality is that just like the March Madness brackets, the Tournament of Champions Season 3 competition might have a Cinderella story waiting to be told.
