OLD BAY proves that its flavor goes on everything and is enjoyed by everyone
Anyone who enjoys cooking appreciates that flavor brings the perfect bite satisfaction. From bold seasonings to subtle additions, each element comes together to make a recipe enjoyable. With OLD BAY, that iconic season is more than just Maryland Pride. It brings a dash of inclusivity for all foods on the table.
Whether it is that seafood boil, a dash on fries or just bringing a boost of flavor to many recipes, cooks always have a container of OLD BAY on the shelf. Given the versatility of product, popular food brands have transformed their offerings with that flavor.
As seen earlier this year, Goldfish launched an OLD BAY seasoned snack. Those fish that smile back had everyone dashing to the store for that bag. Whether enjoyed by the handful, topping a soup or even crushed to make a coating for a fish fry, it was one of the most successful Goldfish flavors.
Even Campbell’s got into the flavor trend. The new Old Bay Seasoned Clam Chowder hit store shelves this month. The first collaboration for Chunky, people couldn’t wait for that first taste. Even though some people might have added a dash or two of the seasoning on their own, Campbell’s version brings a more nuanced approach. Each and every spoonful has that perfect combination of creamy clam chowder and robust iconic Maryland seasoning.
Over the years, OLD BAY has looked to expand beyond the spice cabinet. When it launched its hot sauce, people found new ways of using that spicy, zesty flavor. Whether it added some zip to guacamole to even a plate of eggs, it proved that people cannot get enough of that classic spice combination.
For Pride Month, OLD BAY is using its hot sauce as a way to celebrate how the flavor brings people together. As Jill Pratt, Chief Marketing Officer for McCormick, said, “OLD BAY represents hometown pride. It goes on everything and should be shared with everyone. It’s an iconic flavor that unites us all. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with The Trevor Project and help advance their mission to end suicide among LGBTQ youth.”
Available exclusively online, the 10 oz. 2-pack Pride Edition OLD BAY Hot Sauce is $10.99. The special offering will benefit The Trevor Project, where $4 from every purchase, with a minimum of guaranteed donation of $25,000 will go to the charity.
Flavor can be the taste that unites people. Bringing people to the table can make differences fade because food can communicate in ways that words fail. Isn’t it time to pass the plate and make a connection?
