According to Robbie Koons, PLANTERS brand manager, Planters wanted to offer a “new and distinct eating experience.” Describing the flavor, Koons said, “At first, your taste buds are hit with sweet flavors of honey and sugar, and then the spice kicks in making you want to start the experience all over again.”

The spice comes from dried red chili peppers. Although bold, the heat is not overly extreme. It finishes with the warmth which leads snackers back to another handful to enjoy that initial sweetness. To say that these peanuts are quite tempting is an understatement.

Since there is a hint of seasoned salt, that note is slightly heightened by the honey. When combined with the heat, it makes it hard to stop at just a handful.

While the new Planters Sweet and Spicy Dry Roasted Peanuts are quite tasty on their own, some people might want to mix the newest flavor with a traditional dry roasted peanut.
