Krispy Kreme celebrates its 85th birthday with thousands of free doughnuts
Put on the hat and cue the music because it is time for the Krispy Kreme 85th birthday celebration. For this special celebration, the popular doughnut brand isn’t asking for presents. Instead, it is giving its fans the opportunity to have thousands of free doughnuts. Could you be lucky enough to unwrap this gift?
Over the past couple of months, Krispy Kreme has been giving its customers all types of deals and specials. From a bounty of berry flavors to festive fireworks inspired treats, there are plenty of reasons to enjoy another dozen.
While every birthday is a reason to celebration, turning 85 is a significant number. There aren’t too many businesses that have hit that mark. That Red Hot light has been shining longer than anyone has been running for a morning cup of joe.
For those doughnut fans who are unfamiliar, Krispy Kreme was started by Vernon Rudolph. While Rudolph’s delicious doughnuts were sold to grocery stores, many people longed to satisfy that craving while the doughnuts were hot and fresh. With a little ingenuity and a willingness to give customers what they wanted, Rudolph opened up shop and the rest was history.
To celebrate the Krispy Kreme 85th birthday, the iconic doughnut brand is going to give 8,500 people a year’s worth of free Original Glazed doughnuts. While there is a little luck involved with this special offer, everyone is hoping for a little extra sweetness to their day.
As Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Chief Marketing Officer said, “We love celebrating Krispy Kreme’s birthday every year with our fans. But this year is special, we’re turning 85! So we’re going to have a weeklong celebration by giving 8,500 people a year’s worth of free Original Glazed doughnuts.”
According to the brand, the randomly selected guests will get a Krispy Kreme 85th birthday card, which is worth free Original Glazed doughnuts for a year. The offer equals one dozen of doughnuts per month through June 2023.
The special birthday card will be given out Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 14. Store participation and other information can be found at the brand’s website.
Although many people hope to receive the special card, everyone is getting a great deal on Friday, July 15. With the purchase of a dozen doughnuts, guests can purchase an additional Original Glazed dozen doughnuts for 85 cents.
