Whether it is considered a dip, spread, or an everything food, guacamole is a staple on many tables. From Taco Tuesday to breakfast, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the avocado forward dish. But, as many people understand, flavors make one bowl more inviting than another. Check out this upgraded guacamole recipe that brings a taste of the tropics to the table.

Although no one has tracked the exact originator of guacamole, the idea of avocado combined with spices has been around for centuries. Its popularity grew in the U.S. after the Mexican avocado ban was lifted in 1997. Beyond being an appetizer in restaurants, it has become a staple as a snack, a sports event must-have and even a topping to many dishes.

Since guacamole is relatively simple, it lends itself to culinary creativity. From additional ingredients to bold flavors, each bowl can have a whole new flavor. While some people might like bacon, shrimp or other forms of protein, spices can have the biggest impact.

Beyond the traditional salt, pepper or even chili offerings, the guacamole can have people travel the world in a bite. Basically, the dish can be adapted to a variety of global flavors.

Recently, Spiceology offers a One World blend of spices. Inspired by the Marley Family’s favorite flavors, the spice blends bring a little soul to the table.
