Guy’s Ultimate Game Night set to be the best dinner party on Food Network
While everyone knows that Guy Fieri is the Mayor of Flavortown, the reality is that he might be the party host that everyone strives to become. With the new Food Network show, Guy’s Ultimate Game Night, celebrities and chefs are ready to put their food and quick-thinking skills to the test. Who’s ready to take a big bite of this culinary fun?
Guy’s Ultimate Game Night whips up a new take on traditional party games. With Fieri and Antonia LoFaso keeping the action rolling, both the audience watching and the celebrities participating are having the best time. In some ways, it might inspire that next get-together at home.
Describing this new food television offering, Fieri said, “If you put a game show, late night talk show, and a food competition show in a blender, you get Guy’s Ultimate Game Night. It’s the best dinner party you’ve ever been to…filled with food, booze, off-the-hook games and the funkiest live soundtrack around.”
According to the Food Network, Guy’s Ultimate Game Night brings together celebrities and chefs who are willing to put their culinary skills to the test. Three celebrity teams compete per episode. Whether it is chefs Maneet Chauhan or Nyesha Arrington or celebrities Tara Lipinski or Kym Whitley, these contestants are ready to put their knowledge to the test in a variety of challenging situations.
While this show strives to bring that dinner party vibe, the games might not be found in the typical living room. Each one has a food theme. From Cooktionary to Some Assembly Required, there might be as much laughter as there are best in show offerings.
This Food Network show seems to show an evolution in programming. While Saturday programming might be more focused on the how-tos or instructional side of cooking, many nighttime shows focus on the entertainment of cooking.
Although the culinary competitions seem to fill the hours, Guy’s Ultimate Game Night seems to bring the fun to food television. It might not be Password or Pyramid, but it does have a more entertainment slant with food as the overreaching theme.
In addition, food is that uniting factor that brings people together. Everyone might not agree with the flavor on the plate, but they can sit at the table and enjoy a spirited night together.
Guy’s Ultimate Game Night will premiere on Food Network August 31 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. In addition, it will be streamed on discovery+.
