Whether you love the new Subway Series offerings or have your own special creation, the Subway Footlong Pass could be the best food deal around. This special offer for Subway MyRewards Members is a game changer. How will it impact the quick service restaurant market?

According to a recent statement from Subway, the Subway Footlong Pass is a special offer for September. 10,000 Subway MyRewards Members can purchase this special offer for $15. The pass allows guests to purchase Subway footlongs for 50%. The pass goes on sale August 24.

As stated on the website, the offer comes in the form of digital codes. There are 30 digital codes, one for each day (9/1/22-9/30/22). It is unclear if the code is day specific. The assumption is that only one code can be redeemed per day.

Subway MyRewards Members can only buy one pass. Unfortunately, there appears to be no gifting. With all the back to school talk, this idea might have made a nice gift for a student. After all, a sub can be a quick, easy meal during all that studying. Maybe mom can Venmo the $15.

Could the Subway Footlong Pass be a sign of the times?

As seen over recent years, many quick service restaurants are using digital rewards programs to their advantage. From special discounts to early access to menu items, there are plenty of reasons for consumers to “join the club.”

This type of food pass has been employed by other restaurants. The unlimited beverage program has been beneficial for some companies. That little extra can entice a second or third visit.

In addition, the rewards programs can help restaurants better adapt to their guests. From tracking which discounts resonated better to understanding how people order, all that information can make for a better guest experience.

For now, the Subway Footlong Pass is coming. It appears that it is Sub-tember at Subway.
