Krispy Kreme set to launch an Artemis Moon Doughnut
As NASA prepares to return to the moon and eventually Mars, Krispy Kreme is marking the momentous occasion in the sweetest way. On launch day, the favorite doughnut brand will offer the Artemis Moon Doughnut. While it might not be that gigantic sonic boom, it is a flavor that will make people take notice.
Krispy Kreme is always on top of pop culture and historic moments. From seasonal offerings to special one day events, a celebration is always tastier with doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme has previously celebrated the space race. From the Mars doughnut celebrating NASA’s Perseverance Rover successfully landing on the Red Planet to seeing into the cosmos and the supermassive black hole in the Milky Way galaxy, that round shaped treat can inspire a tasty celestial conversation.
With the Artemis Mission, NASA is set to launch its most powerful rocket from the Florida’s Space Coast. While this test mission is just one step to returning people to the moon and eventually heading to Mars, it is a momentous day for the Space Industry.
As the Space Coast prepared for the tens of thousands of people to watch the rocket launch, everyone can join in the celebration thanks to Krispy Kreme. The Artemis Moon Doughnut will be available for one day only, launch day.
According to Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme. “The Artemis I mission is a proud moment, and we are in awe of the amazing Americans behind the world’s most powerful rocket. So, we created these delicious doughnuts to enjoy while you watch the launch. The Orion spacecraft atop the rocket will stay in space longer than any ship for astronauts has done without docking to a space station, but our Artemis Moon Doughnut will be available only Monday, so start the countdown and don’t miss it!”
This special limited edition doughnut features Cheesecake KREME flavored and filled doughnut which is topped with Cookies ‘n KREME icing. In addition, more cookie pieces are on top.
While some people might have joked that the moon is made of cheese, this sweet offering is far from funky. Even if astronauts might prefer a little spice mixed into that sweetness, everyone will want to get a taste of the Artemis Moon Doughnut.
The special offering will be available on launch day, which is currently scheduled for Monday, August 27. If the launch day changes, the special one day only offering will change as well.
