While many people know that Ryan Reynolds knows how to make a great gin cocktail and can craft a witty line, he is exposing new talent to the world. With his new publication, everyone can learn the nuance to making perfect rarebit.

Just in time for National Welsh Rarebit Day, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have released their first cookbook, the Official Wrexham AFC Cookbook, “20 Ways to Make Rarebit”. While this dish might not be on every menu in America, it could be time for some foodies to discover this Welsh favorite food.

Although people might wonder why these two non-culinary professionals wrote a cookbook, the idea is simple. Cooking is meant to be fun. Even when a dish is as simple as cheese and toast. After all, if these two non-cooks can make an iconic recipe seem engaging, isn’t there something to be learned in the kitchen.

According to Reynolds and McElhenney, “Every page features a Rarebit recipe lovingly tailored for fans around the world. So wherever you are, we hope you’ll enjoy taking a rare–bite out of Welsh history, as you cheer on the Red Dragons.”

As the Co-chairmen of Wrexham AFC, the pair want fans to have both fun on and off the pitch. Whether it is bringing a taste of the favorite food to fans across the pond or just bringing a few laughs along the way, it proves that food unites people. Even for someone who has no clue what a pitch is might want to open the book. It might be a laugh, it might be more, but it is a memorable experience.

And, this cookbook could start a new food trend. It might be time for Welsh food to have its moment. While it might not be that new cold dog, it could be something more exciting than another fusion dish.
