During SeaWorld Orlando Howl-O-Scream 2022, only the truly brave will plunge into the Halloween experience and hope to return unscathed.

Entering into its second year, SeaWorld Orlando Howl-O-Scream understood that it had high expectations to match. During the inaugural fear, the terrors might have traumatized a few guests with the bold frights. Even though sirens might look unassuming, they are not pleased with unhospitable guests.

For this year’s event, SeaWorld Orlando expanded the experience. Adding houses, scare zones, performances and more interactive bars, almost the entire theme park has transformed into the spooky realm.

In addition, the roller coasters are open to ride during the Halloween event. For anyone who has not ridden Ice Breaker in the dark, that vertical drop might be the most thrilling moment of the evening.

Scare zones or houses, which bring bigger screams at SeaWorld Orlando Howl-O-Scream 2022?

Similar to last year, this Halloween event is not for the people who prefer a “light” scare. Hiding behind corners, sneaking up behind your back, and emerging from the unsuspecting places, the scare actors want to make you jump. While the startle is likely, there is more than just scary for scary sake.

Anyone who takes the time to look around the haunted houses will see an extreme attention to detail. The stories behind the scare is clear. Whether it is the frozen abyss that could make anyone shiver to the music that makes you want to join the siren’s call, all the little aspects make each experience more memorable. It can be worth going a second or third time through to appreciate all the nuances.

With the addition of more scare zones, there truly is no place to hide. Beyond the dense fog that could confuse even the best navigators, the scare actors get into their characters. From the Bayou’s witchcraft to the stone-like creatures that control your gaze, the interaction draws guests into the experience. What they do not realize is the person waiting to surprise them at another moment.

Given that some guests might need to calm their nerves in between screams, SeaWorld Orlando Howl-O-Scream 2022 added some additional themed bars and more food options. While the chefs did go extreme with unusual protein offerings, the themed cocktails are a little more approachable for the non-food adventurous.

Beyond offering a little respite, the themed bars are a great place to not only interact with the characters but with fellow guests. From the witty, sometimes off-color jokes of the longshoremen to the amazing aerials in the Poison Grotto, these locales add another element to the overall enjoyment.

Lastly, a first for an Orlando theme park has joined the SeaWorld Orlando Howl-O-Scream 2022 event. At Lost Souls Hideaway, guests can enjoy a special performance from Serpentina Moray. An upgraded experience, the bodacious drag show is overflowing with quick wit and infectious beats. This special event is truly a highlight of the season.

SeaWorld Orlando Howl-O-Scream 2022 runs now through October 31 on select nights. The special event is recommended for older guests and requires a separate ticket.
