Eggo Nog is a satisfying sip to L’Eggo the holiday stress
Even though Santa might be on top of that Naughty and Nice list, others can feel the holiday stress. From the calendar full of holiday parties to that never ending to-do list, the merry and bright might be missing from that festive feeling. Just like Eggo can kept the stress away from the breakfast table, Eggo Nog is the de-stressing sip that adults will crave this holiday season.
More and more food brands are branching out from their respective categories. Beyond the stylish food fashion, product collaborations over complementary flavors are becoming more frequent. From the snack aisle to the refrigerated case, there are plenty of food mash-ups.
Recently, alcoholic beverages have embraced that food cross over. Who doesn’t remember the Lays Vodka that changed how people drank a Bloody Mary. Infusing liquor with a particular flavor not only celebrates the familiar taste but adds a touch of whimsy to the glass.
The new Eggo Nog is a collaboration between Sugarlands Distilling Co. The Tennessee based company infuses its Appalachian Sippin’ Cream with flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg. Of course, a plate of Eggo Thick and Fluffy Waffles paired with the rum liqueur could be the sweet ending to any hectic day.

Thinking about this particular offering, it does create a new twist on the classic phrase, L’Eggo my Eggo. Although no one should overindulge any time of year, there is something to be said about saying “no” during the holiday season. Why not schedule some “me time” with a Eggo waffle, some Eggo Nog, and a favorite holiday movie. It might be the best gift of the season.
Looking at the flavor of this special liqueur, it could inspire some culinary creativity. Why not add that nog to an ice cream and make an adult Eggo waffle sandwich. Or, try a half coffee half nog beverage for a warm sipper on a chilly night. There are plenty of options to pour.
