New Buitoni ravioli flavors offer a new spin on family favorite dishes
Many families have favorite meals served every week. Beyond the Taco Tuesday or Friday night pizza, certain food choices are staples. One in particular is pasta. While that food might be a favorite, many people crave new flavors and innovative ideas without straying too far from the familiar. The new Buitoni ravioli flavors fit that description deliciously.
Buitoni is a leader in the refrigerated pasta and sauce category. Whether it is a simple spaghetti to the robust ravioli, the variety avoids the food boredom.
In a recent announcement, the brand revealed that two new flavors are hitting the shelf. They are Pepperoni & Cheese and Chicken Parmesan. With these new option, the popular food brand takes inspiration from favorite meals. Why should people have to make that difficult choice, when the flavors are wrapped up in one tasty bite.
As Graham Corneck, President and CEO of Buitoni Food Company, said, “We’re excited to bring consumers a fresh take on Italian-inspired dishes that reflect the tastes and preferences of consumers here in the United States. Perfect for serving any time – from Sunday game day to a weeknight meal in a pinch after a busy day at work or school – these new flavors combine the ease and quality consumers expect from Buitoni with the delicious flavors of their favorite meals, all available from the comfort of their own kitchen.”
Looking at the two new Buitoni ravioli flavors, they borrow from the familiar. Many people love pepperoni and cheese on a pizza. At the same time, it is a common ingredient on that cheese board. Why shouldn’t it be stuffed inside of a ravioli.
With this version, the slightly smoky and spicy pepperoni is combined with both mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Whether served with a classic red sauce, a hearty alfredo, or just eaten with a drizzle of olive oil, this ravioli flavor will fly off shelves.
The other flavor, Chicken Parmesan captures the essence of this classic dish. Thinking about this flavor, it lends itself to making a robust meal. Why not shave big slices of parmesan over pasta and red sauce to mimic the plating of a traditional chicken parmesan.
While these two new Buitoni ravioli flavors are on store shelves, the brand hinted that more new flavors will be coming in the new year. It will be interesting to see if the brand borrows from other Italian favorite dishes or thinks a little outside of the pasta bowl. But, a lasgana or eggplant parmesan might make a tasty addition to the line-up.
The new Buitoni ravioli flavors are available Kroger, Mariano’s, Dillons, King Soopers, Fry’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, QFC, Smith’s, Food 4 Less, Albertson’s and Safeway with more stores to be added in the new year. These flavors are sold in 20 oz package and have a suggested retail price of $8.99.
