Opening a jar of that iconic chocolate hazelnut spread comes with infinite sweet possibilities. From the simple dollop on that morning waffle to flavoring the decadent chocolate cake, one jar holds almost an infinite amount of options. As holiday baking takes over, Nutella is ready to spread a bond across generations.

This holiday season, Nutella is encouraging everyone to get into the kitchen and create. From a simple dish to an elaborate dessert, creating the Nutella Nonna Approved dish could come with an extra special present.

As part of this promotion, Nutella partnered with Nonna Pia to offer some baking inspiration. While each bite is quite tasty, it is more than just another sweet treat. It is about making those memories in and around the kitchen.

According Noah Szporn, Senior Vice President of Spreads at Ferrero North America said, “Just like enjoying Nutella, baking is a universal love language that crosses generations—and nobody’s better at it than Nonnas. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the delicious recipes from our fans this holiday season but more importantly, we hope they create wonderful memories baking together.”

Throughout this promotion, the #NutellaNonnaContest has celebrated how food connects people. While the recipes are droll worthy, it is more. Each submission triggered a donation to Generations United.

The purpose of Generations United is about “strengthening the bonds between generations.” Baking, like food in general, can be that universal language that breaks down barriers. Old, young, and everyone in between can find some common ground in and around food on the plate.

Holiday baking might be spirited and delicious but it is more than just a plate of sweetness. From being a family archive to a way to bridge a gap, turn on the stand mixer, light the oven, and grab a fork. The invitation is waiting and people are hungry for that connection.
